José M. Valdivia, Jr. M.D., is the medical director for Road to Recovery Treatment Center and has been practicing medicine for over 42 years. He holds his state of Florida medical license and Controlled Substances Registration. José graduated from the University of Salamanca, Spain, prior to completing his residency at the University of Miami in General Psychiatry. Dr. Valdivia spent 4 years at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital. José loves medicine and caring for patients. He has extensive experience overseeing Partial Hospitalization Programs assisting patients in need.
Steve Hamburger, LCSW, MCAP, is first and foremost a caring, supportive therapist. With over 32 years in recovery, he is a seasoned clinician with a passion for recovery. He is graduate of University of Denver, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He is a graduate of The Addictions Training Institute and is currently a Master’s Level Addiction Professional. He earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2008. He has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2010 and is currently a qualified Supervisor. He has been steadily employed as a clinician and clinical supervisor for over a decade. He has been a clinician in substance abuse treatment centers working with co-occurring mental health issues. He was a representative for CARP in both Marchman and Drug Court. He specializes in 12-step facilitation, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing and working with families.
